The Mountain Play has been an annual tradition for nearly a century. A classic Greek amphitheatre built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and situated on the top of spectacular Mount Tamalpais in Marin County is the setting for a high quality Broadway style musical theater production each spring. These award-winning shows are presented for five weekends in May and June and feature special effects that can only be found in this historic and beautiful outdoor setting. The Mountain Play is a beloved spring ritual that encourages families and large groups; picnics and hikes are part of the tradition. Five performances on Sundays from mid-May to mid-June with a final performance on Father's Day. Revenue from ticket sales cover only half of the true cost and the balance is provided by individual contributions and support from foundations and business partners. Please help preserve this unique regional theatre experience.
