Description
The Mount Carmel Foundation an Ohio 501(c)(3) nonprofit has worked to support mission driven programs of Mount Carmel through philanthropy since its inception in 1984.
The Foundation needs funding for the following areas: 1) Community Outreach Program: free healthcare to underserved populations of low-income, elderly, homeless and isolated people. A large refugee/immigrant population is served by Mount Carmel. Columbus has the second largest Somali population in the United States in addition to an ever growing Hispanic population. 2) Hospice and Palliative Care: Provides medical symptom management for terminally ill patientsand support for families; 3) Mount Carmel College of Nursing: Scholarships and teaching aids for the next generation of healthcare professionals to help alleviate the nursing shortage; 4) Cancer Services: Quality, compassionate care for cancer patients; 5) Medical Education: Educational opportunities for resident physicians; 6) Area of Greatest Need.
