Description
The Montgomery County
Historical Society (MCHS) is the only county-wide, non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting Montgomery County history for current and future county residents. Through the Jane C. Sween Library, Beall-Dawson House Museum, Stonestreet Museum of 19th Century Medicine and the History Resource Center at the Waters House at Pleasant Fields, MCHS is able to interpret the county’s past through programs, exhibitions and publications. The Society also preserves historic documents and artifacts, making the past accessible to the public.
