Description
In 2003, my family and I founded the non-profit, 501c3 organization Mini’s-Making-A-Difference to do just so. After purchasing a Mini Cooper for the family to use, we decided to use the automobile as a way to give back to the community. MINI’s-Making-A-Difference, or MINIsMD, uses the Mini Cooper to fill and transport toys that will be distributed to terminally ill children in the hospital. Mini Cooper owners gather together for the toy drive, also assisting with the service project. With just toy runs alone, MINIsMD has raised over $98,000 dollars in both monetary and toy donations, as well as $8,000 to send Make-A-Wish families to Give Kids the World in Florida. In the past two years, MINIsMD has additionally helped with a patient’s kidney transplant operation expenses, restocking food pantries in need, Toys-for-Tots, and donating clothing and baby formula for children adopted from Haiti.
