Description
Milwaukee Public Theatre was founded in 1974 as a professional educational outreach company with a mission to make the arts accessible to people of all ages, income levels, abilities, cultures, ethnicities. Programming includes original theatreworks dealing with social, cultural and health issues including HIV/AIDS, ATODA, violence; large-scale community-building events (giant puppet parades, circus performers, etc.) and a strong educational/healing arts program of workshops and arts residencies in all art forms. We partner extensively with schools, CBO's, health organizations, senior centers, businesses and reach over 100,000 people yearly with 800 to 1500 events--mostly free to the public.
