Micro Business Development Corporation (MBD) was founded in 1993 to promote microenterprise as an economic development tool. Throughout our history, MBD has been a client-driven and need-based organization. Since our inception, when we began providing access to capital for struggling business owners who were not considered bankable by traditional institutions, to the time we implemented our first skills development courses and programs, MBD has strived to provide innovative channels for building strong, sustainable businesses in some of the Colorado’s most disenfranchised communities.
Once seen as a marginal and limited tool for economic growth, MBD is now viewed as a leading force for economic justice throughout the United States. In our 13 years of operation MBD has assisted over 25,000 individuals in Colorado and has created over 550 jobs.
