Description
Michigan Peace Team (MPT) works to actively create a just world grounded in nonviolence and respect for the interconnectedness of all people and all things. We pursue peace through active nonviolence in places of conflict.
MPT trains ordinary citizens in creative, nonviolent conflict intervention. Since 1994, we have trained hundreds of people, many who have volunteered, both at home and abroad, for MPT peacemaking teams. These teams are deployed to regions of hostility and warfare, reducing violence and thus creating a safe space for the local community to work out their conflicts.
MPT has worked in solidarity with the people of Iraq, Haiti, Bosnia, Mexico, and along the U.S./Mexico border. We are currently fielding international teams to Palestine/Israel. For more information, go to our website:
