Description
In addition to serving as an adoption agency for abandoned or homeless dogs and cats, Miami-Dade Animal Services is responsible for enforcing Chapter V of the County code, as well as Florida Statutes 828, which deals primarily with animal cruelty issues. More than 34,000 pets were abandoned at Animal Services last year. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their families or find life-long homes for as many animals as possible. Another essential part of our job is to educate people about responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering, identification, microchipping and adoptions. We work tirelessly to increase public awareness about the availability of loving, adoptable pets at Animal Services, but our resources are limited. Animal Services is always in need of donations from the public.
