Description
he Mexican Cultural Institute is the only nonprofit organization in Los Angeles actively committed to preserving Mexican culture. Free to the public, the Institute receives over 40,000 visitors a year. The public community spaces include a Resource Center/ Library with information on cultural activities and educational opportunities in Mexico and the U.S. as well as books in Spanish on Mexican history, arts and culture, politics and economics, and an Art Gallery presenting six exhibitions a year with traditional and contemporary artists of Mexican heritage from Los Angeles and Mexico. The Gallery also hosts film screenings, art workshops, book readings, lectures and receptions.
