MDHA is a membership organization whose mission is to end homelessness in Metropolitan Dallas through advocacy, planning, and education that creates and sustains needed change.
Specifically, the Alliance 1) brings $14 million in HUD funds to North Texas, 2) facilitates the collaborative efforts of 86 service organizations, 3) provides oversight for The Bridge.
The Bridge is expected to serve up to 5,000 homeless individuals annually with 17 co-located agencies. It provides emergency shelter to more than 600 individuals a day and houses 100 individuals in transitional housing, with a focus of rapid re-housing. Services available at The Bridge include medical care, psychiatric care, substance abuse treatment, VA services, Workforce services, Legal Aid, meal service and shelter.
