Description
Merrick House is a settlement house founded in 1919 which serves the near west side of Cleveland. The central component to its success is its immersion in the community. The poeple of the near west side have made Merrick House their center; one that not only serves them, but empowers them to serve themselves, and one another. Core services include child day care, recreation, adult education and GED classes, senior services, mentoring for young women, outreach to families with young children (Help Me Grow and MomsFirst), literacy programs, community organizing, and after school programs.
