Description
Mercy Vocational High School (MVHS) is a private, urban vocational high school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. The school's mission is to provide a Catholic education to those students whose educational and career goals are best served by a quality, comprehensive academic/vocational secondary school program. Students acquire marketable skills to enter immediately into their career vocation or to pursue post-secondary education. As a school community MVHS seeks to live the Gospel in word and action. MVHS places the highest priority on the spiritual and moral development of its students and on their service to others.
MVHS is the only co-educational, Catholic vocational high school in the country. MVHS supports an at-risk population of 88%, yet still maintains a daily attendance rate of 97%. Following graduation, 60% of graduates continue their education in technical schools or colleges, and 37% immediately enter the workforce.
