Mercy Education Project (MEP) provides highly individualized educational services to help low-income girls and women in Detroit and the surrounding area. Our mission is to help our students gain academic success and self-confidence as they move toward self-sufficiency.
Programs for women include literacy, adult basic education, GED preparation and selected career development. Early childhood development classes are provided to parents and caretakers of youth ages o to 6.
Programs for girls (grades one through eight) include after-school one-to-one remedial tutoring in reading and/or math, tutoring in local libraries, and Emerging Leaders, a 4-week summer enrichment program that exposes middle-school-age girls to colleges and careers and provides academic enrichment and leadership development.
