Description
Mental Health America of Franklin County, formerly the Mental Health Association of Franklin County (MHAFC), was established in 1956 to serve the residents of Franklin County (Columbus, Ohio). Our mission is to raise awareness and understanding of mental health issues and to promote community-wide mental health and the recovery of persons with mental illness through prevention, education, advocacy, and support services. We are funded through the United Way of Central Ohio, the Franklin County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board, private grants, contributions, program service fees and membership dues. We are the only organization in Franklin County whose broad mission is to educate the public about mental health and mental illness.
