The Memorial Health Care System Foundation Mission
“To serve our community by strengthening Memorial’s mission to nurture the healing ministry of Christ”.
The Memorial Foundation
The Memorial Health Care System Foundation is the fundraising arm of our system and exists to allow Memorial to extend its mission of medical excellence further into our community. The Foundation Board acts as guide to the Foundation Office.
Why does Memorial raise money?
Charitable gifts have been vital to Memorial since the founding board was created in June 1946 to build this faith-based hospital for our community. In the late 1940’s H. Clay Evans Johnson led a group of volunteers to raise $3-million to build and equip Memorial. Today, Memorial continues to be supported by the Chattanooga community
The Foundation still continues to raise funds for special programs and projects, including its endowment.
