Description

The MUSC College of Health Professions is SC’s leading institution for the training of clinicians, hospital administrators, and other professionals involved in the delivery of critical and increasingly requisite health care services. It offers training in 9 key health care disciplines and, with more than 850 students, is the largest of MUSC’s six colleges. The MUSC CHP is now seeking funds to build two important new academic centers: a Center for Health Economics and Policy Studies which will critically examine the cost benefit and cost effectiveness of healthcare delivery in such diverse areas as cancer treatment, mental health, and prevention and/or treatment of neuromuscular disorders; and a Center for Rehabilitation Sciences which will research strategies for neuromuscular disorders including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke and amputation. The Center examines all dimension of rehabilitation ranging from quality of life to human mobility.
