Meals On Wheels Delaware is part of a nationwide program that provides hot, nutritious meals to homebound senior citizens. Last year, Meals On Wheels Delaware agencies and their volunteers delivered more than 600,000 hot meals—and as many warms smiles—to seniors across the state. For most of our recipients, this service is a lifeline and the key to ongoing independence. Each weekday in Delaware, over 4,300 seniors depend on us. For the 61% of homebound seniors who live alone, this outside contact can be as important as the daily meal. At Meals On Wheels Delaware, it is our mission to develop private-sector funding and volunteer resources to assist local Meals on Wheels programs, working toward the day when no eligible senior goes without a hot meal.
