Description
McRae Elementary is a Title 1 Pre Kindergarten through 6th grade school. We are a rural school located in Clay County, Florida and serve approximately 550 students. 50% of our students come from lower socio-economic families and therefore receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges created by state standarized testing and the federal No Child Left Behind legislation, McRae students and teachers have been recognized consistently for meeting and exceeding the these standards. An "A" school in the 2005-06 school year, McRae was recognized as one of the top schools in the state for the growth shown by students in the areas of Reading and Math.
