Since 1862, McQuade Children’s Services has carried out its mission to provide therapeutic residential care, special education, community group homes, emergency diagnostic shelter services, and community based prevention programs to over 2,500 special needs children and their families annually.
McQuade is dedicated to shaping the futures and changing the lives of children who are emotionally disturbed and who might have experienced academic and behavioral difficulties, abandonment, abuse and poverty. We accept Hudson Valley youth referred by New York departments of social services, family courts, or school districts primarily from the Counties of Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Westchester, Putnam, Sullivan, and Rockland. McQuade provides the fundamental needs of food, clothing, and shelter for the children in our care, as well as the highest quality treatment, education, socialization, career, personal development and recreation opportunities through an integrated team approach.
