Description
The Mayor’s Beautification Program is a non-governmental, 501(c)(3). Our mission is to build communities that value and contribute to Tampa Bay’s natural outdoor environment by helping to improve and beautify public areas, parks and streetscapes. We meet our mission through two main programs, STEPS and Environmental Service Projects.
The STEPS program has two components. Technical and mini-grant support to K-12 educators and students working on environmental service-learning projects. Second, STEPS provides on-the-job training and educational support and service opportunities for low-income high school students.
Environmental Service Projects include volunteer opportunities, including shoreline restoration and neighborhood improvement projects, as well as park, median, tree, shoreline and neighborhood adoptions. These efforts build a sense of community as neighborhood residents invest their time back into their community. We supply all necessary tools.
