Description

The Matthew 25 Center, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization located in Burgaw, NC. The mission of the organization is to help the families of inmates incarcerated in prisons and jails in Southeastern North Carolina. The organization encourages families to visit their loved ones in prison since research has shown that this strongly contributes to the families well being, boosting self esteemm\, lowering the divorce rate, lowering incidences of self destructive behaviour in childen of inmates (incarceration, unwed pregnancies, school dropout rates, etc.). The organization hosts families free of charge in the center when they visit the inmates making visits more afordable for families who travel from a distance. The center also offers counseling, information and other programs which help the families survive the crisis that incarceration brings.
