Description
Maternal and Family Health Services is a nonprofit health and human service agency dedicated to helping low income and uninsured women, children and families to realize the promise of better health. The program offers nutritious foods and nutrition education through its Women, Infants and Childrens (WIC) Program; free cancer screenings through its HealthyWoman project; important prenatal care through its Healthy Beginnings Plus Program; no or low cost reproductive health services through its Family Planning program; guidance to teens in making healthy choices through its SafeTeens initiative; and home-nurse visitation and support to first-time mothers through its Nurse Family Partnership program. MFHS annually serves over 120,000 individuals in 16 Pennsylvania counties. MFHS's "We Care" motto is demonstrated each day through the countless ways it reaches out to enhance the lives of women and children in the communities it serves.
