Description

Maternal and Child Health Coalition is a membership organization of local individuals and organizations focused on improving the healthcare of women and children in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

MCHC collaborates with community agencies to plan and create programs, advocate for policies and legislation that positively affect maternal and child health issues, and avoid duplication of services in this day of limited resources. MCHC believes that the most effective way to enhance the health of women, children and families is through prevention, intervention and education.

The Coalition administers five programs: KC Healthy Start, Immunization Prevention and Awareness, Child Obesity Prevention Program (KidPower KC), Safe Kids Metro KC (Child injury prevention) and Breastfeeding.
