Founded in 1981, MVLS matches volunteer attorneys with low-income Marylanders needing civil legal assistance. In 2008, over 800 volunteers helped 3,600 individuals and families access the courts to resolve matters involving foreclosure, consumer debt, medicaid, custody and tax disputes.
