Description
A small group of members opened a food bank to help the community in need that cannot get food and basic household supplies anywhere else. The majority of the clients served make a few dollars more than state guidelines for assistance and simply cannot make ends meet. This group also finds time each month to make a home cooked meal and go out to the streets to feed the homeless. The funding for these projects comes for the most part from their own pockets and a few small outside donations. They even spent a year knitting gloves, hats and scarves in order to make gifts of warmth to give out to those in need. The group also buys school supplies for the local elementary school which is in the heart of the neighborhood. The food pantry has served 1200 + families this year and 350 homeless people meals in the past 3 months alone on a budget of $250 a month, imagine what they could do with a small donation from your cause. . .
