The Martin Luther King Housing Development Association is a community based organization that provides affordable housing, emergency shelter, support services and promotes self-sufficiency, home ownership, neighborhood revitalization and economic development. MLKHDA develops affordable, safe and desirable housing by acquiring existing property or constructing new units, and by providing housing development related services. HDA also provides emergency services to low income and homeless citizens, ranging from emergency shelter for individuals and families, through a variety of support services like rental assistance, protective payee services, housing case management, and maternity case management. The design is to offer a comprehensive continuum of care for those in need by ensuring an integrated system of services for the homeless population in our community, and thereby giving them a viable opportunity for home ownership, self sufficiency, and a better life.
