Description
We are an Independent Bookstore in Chapel Hill, NC and also a state registered non-profit organization. All of the money made by our retail book sales goes directly into funding our community center, which also runs out of our store. We offer free workshops, art events, Tai Chi, poetry open mics, and many author events, all of which are open to the public. There is a children's theatre that runs out of our store, as well as a number of art enrichment courses taught by local elementary school teachers. We have a scholarship program for underpriveldged children who wish to take art classes here, as well as gallery/bookshelf space for unknown artists, local musicians, and self published authors to showcase themselves. Our unique business model of small business and non-profit has earned us notice within our community and we were awarded the 2008 Small business of the year award by the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Chamber of Commerce.
