Description

The Marin County Bicycle Coalition is a nationally recognized non-profit, formed in 1998, whose mission is to promote safe bicycling for everyday transportation and recreation. We are making Marin County a model bicycle community by working with our 12 Public Works Departments to improve and create bicycle and pedestrian facilities (multiuse paths, bike lanes, bike routes and sidewalks). We implement Marin's Safe Routes to Schools program, promote motorist and cyclist safety via a Share the Road campaign, provide free valet bike parking at dozens of events, and influence regional, state and federal policy decisions related to bicycling. Since our inception, we've helped our towns and County to acquire over $65 million in government grants to complete their bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Not a penny of these funds goes to MCBC.
