Description
The Marietta Band Association (MBA, Inc) is a 501 (c) (3) Tax-Exempt Corporation that supports the Marietta City School District’s Band Program. The program consists of marching band, jazz band, symphonic band and concert band.
Marietta High School is also a Title 1 school where 70% of its students qualify for the free lunch program.
The Marietta Band Association has a goal of raising $100,000 by March 31, 2012 to purchase new instruments and fund the coming year’s exhibition and competition schedule.
The band is having to turn away talented students whose families cannot afford to purchase instruments because the band does not have the funds to purchase additional instruments for these students to use during the school year. Furthermore, the "school owned" instruments such as percussion and those specific for marching band are in dire need of repair and/or replacement.
