Description

Manna for the Many distributes food to families in need in Shamokin, Pa. and surrounding areas. The pantry opened in January 2001 and currently serves over 500 client families. The pantry is open Tuesdays, 9-11 am; Wednesdays 1-3 pm; and Thursdays 6-8 pm. The pantry is staffed totally by volunteers. Manna has no paid employees. A twelve-member board of directors consisting of members of the local community oversees the pantry operation. Manna does not accept government funds and depends on monetary and food donations from the local community.
