Description
Maine Animal Coalition (MAC) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the elimination of animal abuse and exploitation through education and example. MAC works through volunteers around the State of Maine to promote awareness of animal welfare issues and provide the public with educational resources relating to animals. It is our belief that, by educating the public, we can change attitudes about animals and, thereby, improve the treatment and status of all animals, including companion animals, farm animals, animals used in research, and wildlife. Among other things, our MAC publishes a Maine animal resource guide, responds to questions from the public about animal issues, maintains an educational website, hosts a vegetarian food festival, brings national speakers to Maine to lecture on animal welfare issues, and provides feedback on animal-related legislation.
