Description

A senior services organization in Anchorage, AK, specifically outreaching to people ages 55 and over who are minority, frail, low income, isolated. We provide grants to income qualifying seniors with no other assistance for eyeglasses, hearing aids, dental work, or prescriptions. We also issue small grants for food, pet food, auto repairs, home, furnace, & appliance repairs, etc, for seniors who income qualify & have no other avenue of assistance for their need. Lastly, our van transports seniors to the doctor, grocery stores, 2 days per week and socialization, educational or cultural opportunities 2 days per week.Two-thirds of our ridership indicated that they would be almost totally isolated without our van service.
Membership fee for van transportation is $15.00/yr.
