High School in Ironwood, MI, serving a community of ~5,000 people. Currently, funds are being cut for extra-curriculars due to school funding in Michigan being cut. Our area is rural and poor and cannot afford the self-funded activities so easily. More kids would be involved if they didn't have to pay-to-play. We also have no after school programs (like YMCA, etc) for our kids. We need to EMPOWER our kids to BECOME something and to DO something besides get into trouble!
