Description
LFA has three primary goals:
? To assist lupus patients and their families & friends learn about lupus.
? To implement programs aimed toward public awareness and education
? To seek funding for research into the causes and cure of the disease of lupus erythematosus.
How do we reach these goals?
By providing regular meetings of support groups in several geographical areas. Some meetings feature guest physicians, counselors and other professionals who discuss the latest lupus research, answer questions and exchange information on coping with this chronic affliction.
By providing educational literature about lupus, and related diseases, along with a lending library stocked with excellent books and pamphlets.
By raising money for research through grants, donations, fund-raising events, and community resources.
By providing peer patient counseling by telephone and in our office.
