Description
The LFA, Vermont Chapter, is the Vermont presence for the nation's leading nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the causes and cure for lupus through research, education and training, public awareness, and patient support. To that end, the Chapter contributes to national lupus research projects, organizes and sponsors educational events, publishes and distributes a newsletter, distributes the magazine "Lupus Now," participates in public health forums, and organizes lupus support groups with trained facilitators. It provides information about lupus to anyone who requests it. Annual walkathons, other fundraising events and donations provide funding for the Chapter's programs. One part-time employee and many volunteers make these things possible.
