LEEP (Low country Environmental Education Programs) is a non-profit organization located in Charleston, SC. formed in 1999 after realizing that many of the SC students were unaware of the rich environment that surrounds them. Many students have never been to the beach or visited a park minutes from thier neighborhoods. Many schools are do not have have the resources to participate in the opportunities available. Our mission is to provide the opportunities for students of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgounds to explore South Carolinas natural environment through experiential learning. LEEP has been providing hands-on experiential learning since 1999. They have been giving children an experience of a lifetime by providing opportunities to see the beaches, learn about watersheds, visit the SC Aquarium, provide tours through the wetlands, and learn how to work with each other as a team and how to learn about their environment by being a part of the learning process.
