Description
Long Island Head Start is funded by the Federal Government to support low income children and their families. We currently serve 1675 children in 24 centers located in Suffolk County. We have over 1000 children on our waiting list. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive learning environment to children, respectful of their cultures; and to assist families in reaching self-sufficency through the combined efforts of parents, community and staff.
