Established in 1986, Literacy Volunteers of Western Cook County (LVWCC) empowers adults living in Western Cook County communities to overcome functional illiteracy and, thereby, improve their life skills, enabling them to become greater contributors within their communities. LVWCC accomplishes its mission by providing free of charge, confidential tutoring services to adults in need of basic literacy, GED and English-as-a-Second-Language instruction.
