Description
Literacy Volunteers of America is a national nonprofit organization which combats illiteracy through a network of community volunteer organizations.
Literacy Volunteers - Danbury, Inc. is the second largest of 17 affiliates in our state. We provide service to the 14 town region, serving 378 learners in fiscal year 1998-1999. 271 trained volunteers instructed and supported the students, who are working on reading, writing, and conversational English skills. 95% of the students are enrolled in English for Speakers of Other Languages instruction.
