Description
The primary purpose of the Council is to promote literacy efforts in our community so that those who are not yet literate can acquire the ability and confidence to increase and use their English language skills. The Council shall provide free tutoring to adults to enable them to:
• More fully participate in their community.
• Get and keep a job.
• Think independently and increase their capacity to be self-sufficient.
• Break the cycle of illiteracy in their family.
• Meet their educational or vocational goals and continue to learn throughout life.
