The Light of Life Foundation for Thyroid Cancer (www.checkyourneck.com), is a non-for-profit organization affliated with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The foundation was started in 1997 by Joan Shey, a patient, who recognized the need to build a support network for Thyroid Cancer survivors, family members, and friends.

The Light of Life Foundation dedicates its efforts to raising public awareness of thyroid cancer, creating support networks in local holidays, and funding research for treatment and a cure.

Thyroid Cancer is the fastest increasing cancer of all cancers in women and men. Asking your doctor to check your neck at your next appointment could save your life.
