Easter Seals Midwest is a nonprofit, registered 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities - including autism - learn, live, work and participate in the community. For more than 50 years, we have remained dedicated to providing quality programming for even more individuals with developmental disabilities, which is why Life Skills and TouchPoint Autism Services merged in 2012, and the combined agency joined the nationwide Easter Seals network in 2013. In 2014, we merged with Triality, Inc., of Kansas City, further expanding our reach and our programming for those we serve. The statewide organization employs more than 1,400 staff members, operates a budget of $48 million and helps more than 3,600 Missourians through four main programs:
Easter Seals Midwest's Autism Services strive to be a single touch point for help and hope for families impacted by autism. We serve more than 2,000 children, teens and adults with autism across Missouri annually. A wide variety of services - including parent training, autism assessments, early intervention, respite services, family navigation, family support groups, community-integration support and therapies - are available.
COMMUNITY LIVING SERVICES
Easter Seals Midwest's Community Living Services are committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities build skills to live independently in homes of their own and participate in the community. Staff members work in more than 575 clients' homes, offering training and assistance whenever and however needed, ranging from 24 hours a day to just a few hours each month.
EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES
Easter Seals Midwest's family-focused early childhood services help at-risk children achieve more in life. At our Early Intervention Center, teachers incorporate an early-childhood curriculum and innovative technology into the learning environment to meet the needs of children both without and with special health needs or developmental delays. Additional early-childhood services include in-home screenings that promote brain development and positive parenting techniques.
Easter Seals Midwest's Employment Services support more than 800 individuals with developmental disabilities as they build job skills, and find and maintain competitive employment in the community. Staff members match qualified applicants with meaningful employment, and we continue to support those we serve as they remain on the job with job-coaching and job-retention services. Meaningful day programs that include volunteering opportunities and job-skills development are offered, and teen employment programs also are available.
Easter Seals Midwest expanded to serve the Kansas City area, effective July 1, 2014. Kansas City-based nonprofit joined Easter Seals Midwest, and together, the organizations are positioned to provide a comprehensive array of services that meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. Triality currently serves people with developmental disabilities from birth through retirement. The two organizations are leaders in the field known for advanced, high impact services and are committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities live safe, productive lives in the community.
