Description
Life-Skills, Inc. began as Southern Worcester County Rehabilitation Center, Inc. in 1970 by local parents of disabled adults. Parents and volunteers secured 501(c)(3) status, developed a vocational program which focused on advancement of work related social skills, and provided opportunities for earning wages to adults with developmental disabilities. By 1973 the first day habilitation program was opened, and in 1976 we opened our first residential program. Today, Life-Skills, Inc.’s 400 employees provide day habilitation, residential, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, music therapy, vocational development, employment supports and/or transportation for 350 adults with physical, mental and/or developmental disabilities throughout central Massachusetts.
