A non-profit organization developed to maintain a shared database of the materials held in participating libraries and to provide library automation services at reasonable costs to libraries of multiple types. Cooperating together reduces overall costs of maintenance and provides services otherwise unaffordable in standalone situations. Sharing library automation services provides better information services to members' communities. The online public access catalog searches all the library's holdings with just one typed entry. Members currently consist of public, academic and high school libraries in 11 Alabama counties. LMN celebrated 25 years in 2008!
