Originally founded in 2003, the League of Young Voters Education Fund (LYVEF) incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in September 2004. Our mission is to support young people to build power to create solutions in their own communities nationwide.
Our core program is to build permanent comprehensive youth civic engagement and leadership development organizations in six states: Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Maine, California, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Each local LYVEF affiliate conducts a comprehensive year-round program which includes outreach, leadership development, training, arts-based organizing, alliance building and non-partisan voter engagement. We believe that focusing locally is the most effective way to build significant power and deeply engage young people in the democratic process.
