Leadership Greater Syracuse is a non-profit organization that trains individuals to become active leaders within the community. Since 1991, LGS has been assembling diverse groups of individuals who want to develop their personal leadership potential while affecting positive change within the community. LGS classes represent a cross-section of the people, businesses, industries, educational institutions, non-profit and government organizations that make up the Greater Syracuse community. This unique leadership program not only teaches class members about the assets and challenges of Central New York, but also about group behavior, communication, transforming communities, and power. Class members forge strong bonds with each other and learn to approach challenges by creatively using their collective talents and experience. The extensive learning and team building that takes place during the first year of the program culminates in a meaningful, impactful group project in year two.
