Lawrence Academy of Music teachers believe that music education is fundamental to the development of all individuals regardless of age, experience, or economic circumstance. We invest in the personal and musical growth of our students and work to develop each student's full musical potential. We employ diverse curricular materials that both encourage and challenge our students. We celebrate the crafts of musicianship and pedagogy as we mentor emerging music educators. Our goal is to help students become well-rounded musicians who have internalized the joy of music-making.
Academy students range in age from six months through adult. Programs include Early Childhood Music; private lessons on piano, voice, harp, and most band and orchestral instruments; music theory and aural skills; youth instrumental and choral ensembles; chamber music ensembles for youth and adults; Balinese gamelan; summer camps for youth interested in musical theater, piano, chamber music, and band; and classes for youth and adults with special needs.
All proceeds generated by GoodSearch and GoodShop provide scholarship assistance for students with demonstrated financial need.
