Description
The Latino Medical Student Association is a national non-profit organization that provides opportunities for leadership and education to medical students interested in promoting the health care needs of Latino communities – the largest growing segment of the diverse population being served in heath care and for which large disparities currently exist. In the 22 years of existence, LMSA has helped support the professional development of medical students in the western United States, and mentored undergraduate students seeking admission into a medical education program. Our success comes from our commitment to education and volunteerism among the student members, alumni and health professionals that comprise our organizational network. The University of Washington School of Medicine chapter just became recognized in April of 2006.
