Description
Founded in 1991, Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that works to improve the wealth-building capacity of low- and moderate-income Latinos and other underserved communities in the Washington DC Area. LEDC works with Latinos and other groups that are underserved and underrepresented to help them navigate the US financial systems and manage the conditions that impact their financial stability. LEDC envisions all Washington-area residents having the awareness and equitable access to resources in order to build financial assets and participate in political decisions that foster vibrant, livable communities. We pursue four objectives: 1) increase the number and strength of small businesses; 2) increase homeownership; 3) preserve affordable housing and prevent tenant displacement; and 4) strategically target all of our services to revitalize the economies and appearance of the neighborhoods where our target population lives and works.
