Description
The Latin American Community Center (LACC) of Wilmington, Delaware, was established in 1969 by a group of young Puerto Ricans whose parents had risked everything to come to Delaware in search of opportunity. Today the LACC serves northern Delawae's growing Latino population. Our community is diverse, coming from Puerto Rico, Mexico, La Republica Dominicana, Cuba, Guatemala and other Latin American countries. The LACC celebrates the strength and diversity of our families and is proud to serve Delaware's hard-working Latino community. LACC services include an early childhood development program, after school Learning Academies at three sites, a High School ReEntry program for teen dropouts, parenting classes, youth and adult computer technology programs, Workforce Development, English as a Second Language classes, a domestic violence prevention program, legal advocacy, emergency assistance and crisis alleviation.
